Founded in Switzerland in 2007, the Swiss Iron Health Organisation SIHO is committed to gender equality. Because women have eight times less iron on board than men, it is they who suffer from deficiency complaints and not men.

Although we must take this natural inequality seriously and accept it, we must also develop the courage to work against it, as Swiss doctors do. They stand up to a natural evil. As soon as women with iron deficiency have as much iron as men, most of them become healthy. Since 2007, the Swiss Iron Health Organisation SIHO and the Medical Iron Centres have been able to prove this through observational studies. The Swiss Medical Board has also shown that intravenous iron therapy is efficient.
